How Many Installs Flight

CUBA AND THE MODERN GLADIATORS

Rivers of ink have run on a unanimous vote which overturned the decision of expulsion of Cuba as a member of Organization of American States (OAS).

As you said the Secretary General of that organization, the Chilean José Miguel Insulza, the "historic" this decision will be in the future, particularly if, finally, the Congress of the United American States resolved to end the embargo and blockade imposed more than four decades, Cuba.

Fidel Castro called the OAS as "ministry of colonies of the United States," so it makes sense that the Cuban government has no interest in return to that organization.

On the other hand, the current Democratic administration gives predominance to diplomacy over war in the redesign of its foreign policy. The aim remains the same with Bush holding the U.S. global dominance. Only the global capitalist crisis and the failure in Iraq has redefined the agenda and strategy.

Strain arches its being the keyword. Calm waters concentrating all the Obama administration in resolving the economic crisis and the maximum geopolitical challenge: Afghanistan-Pakistan region. It was understood that the hand stretched out to the mainland.

is that Cuba has been, for five decades, the yardstick that measures the U.S. attitude toward Latin America. For better or for worse.

Remember that the roots of the continental U.S. hegemonic vocation not born with Cold War : rooted in the nineteenth century, with the Doctrine sitting by President Monroe, "America for Americans" (... the north, we would add ...) and the war in which Mexico lost half of its territory inherited from the English empire.

continues in the twentieth century with the so-called "Roosevelt Corollary" (Theodore, president early last century, not to be confused with his nephew, Franklin Delano, 4-time president, winner of the 1929 economic crisis and of the Second World War ). The "Uncle" Teodoro ruled that any extra-continental power could intervene in Latin America without seeking permission from the big brother to the north. Since 1945, the confrontation with Soviet Union reinforced the "fence" with the creation of OAS and Inter-American Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance (TIAR).

The Cold War ended 20 years ago. By contrast, the Monroe Doctrine is in full force.
